The Mourning Sun Children’s Foundation exists to help serve the unique needs of children, teens and their families struggling with grief and loss.
The safety, health, and well-being of our Sunrise Center families is our highest priority, and we also believe it is critical to do our part in the global effort to slow the coronavirus pandemic. Please know that we are taking steps as an organization to minimize the risk of transmission between the grieving families we serve and our dedicated volunteers.
As of right now, we will be following the guidelines of our local school districts, we are re-opening our Sunrise Center with limited capacity and group sizes. Additionally, we are looking to offer online and virtual resources for support groups as well. Please call the center directly to added to our list. We will be calling families on a first-come, first-serve basis as space is limited.
Our office is open should you or anyone in your life need our resources and support. Grieving children and teens may be particularly vulnerable to anxiety and worry during times of uncertainty. Please call at 760-221-6181

How you can SUPPORT THE FOUNDATION
We are always on the lookout for dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers are extensively trained to facilitate each of our groups, support our mission and most importantly, make our families feel welcome and "at home". Volunteer training for those that would like to join our cause and help the kids with their grief are held on a regular basis.
There are many ways you can help resource our programs. For as little as $10/month or $120/year you can become a Friend of the Foundation. Corporate Sponsorships are available, and one-time donations are always welcome as well.
Thank you to those whose generous support makes it possible for High Desert children to receive the help and support they need as they face their grief.
